Wonders Of China - 24 Days From AUD$5180

Day 1-3: Australia/Singapore/Hong Kong
Fly with Singapore Airlines to Hong Kong, via Singapore. On arrival the following day, we will be welcomed by our National Escort and transferred to our hotel for 2 nights. Day at leisure. Following day sightseeing tour of Hong Kong.

Day 4: Hong Kong/Guilin
After breakfast departure transfer to airport to board flight to Guilin, most famous for its scenery & greenery. Evening at leisure. Overnight at hotel.

Day 5: Guilin/Yangshuo (Li River Cruise)
This morning board the Li River Cruise to Yangshuo, enjoying lunch on board. On arrival in Yangshuo, transfer to hotel for 1 night.

Day 6: Yangshuo/Guilin
After breakfast, visit Yangshuo with its surrounding limestone pinnacles and relaxing ambience. After lunch we transfer back to Guilin. Overnight at hotel.

Day 7: Guilin/Kunming
Morning at leisure. After lunch, transfer to the airport to board flight to Kunming. Kunming, the capital of Yunnan province, has been inhabited for 2000 years and contains fascinating alleyways and wooden buildings. Tonight we feast on "across-the-bridge" noodles at the Golden Dragon Hotel.

Day 8: Kunming
Full day tour of Kunming, including a visit to the Stone Forest (Shilin) and the Taoist Golden Temple. Visit a Yi Minority village en route. Overnight at hotel.

Day 9-10: Kunming/Chengdu
Morning at leisure. After lunch, transfer to railway station to board overnight train to Chengdu. Overnight train soft sleeper. Following morning arrive at Chengdu, transfer to hotel for 1 night. Afternoon visit to the Giant Panda Breeding Research Base.

Day 11: Chengdu/Leshan/Dazu
After breakfast transfer by coach to Leshan where we board our boat to visit the Grand Buddha (world's largest Buddha). After lunch, we continue on to Dazu. Overnight at Dazu.

Day 12-14: Dazu/Chongqing (Yangtze River Cruise)
Morning visit to Buddhist cliff carvings. Afternoon at leisure. After dinner, transfer to board our Yangtze River cruise boat. Overnight on board. Following morning, we cruise through the mountains of Eastern Sichuan. Disembark at Fengdu for an excursion to Abode of Ghosts. Overnight on board. Following morning, we cruise through the Three Gorges: Qutang, Wu and Xiling. Overnight on board.

Day 15: Yichang/Luoyang
Disembark cruise at Yichang. After lunch, transfer to railway station to board train to Luoyang. Dinner on train. On arrival transfer to hotel for 2 nights.

Day 16: Luoyang
Morning at leisure. Afternoon sightseeing tour visiting the Longmen Caves and White Horse Temple. Overnight at hotel.

Day 17-18: Luoyang/Xi'an
Morning at leisure. Afternoon transfer to railway station to board train for a 3-hour journey to Xi'an. On arrival, transfer to hotel for 2 nights. Evening at leisure. Following day, we visit the World Heritage-listed Terracotta Warriors. After lunch we tour Bell & Drum Tower Square and the Great Mosque. Your dinner tonight is "Jiaozi", the specialty meat and vegetable dumplings of Xi'an. After dinner, we enjoy Tang Dynasty dancing. Overnight at hotel.

Day 19: Xi'an/Beijing
Morning visit to the Big Goose Pagoda and the Tang Dynasty Museum. After lunch we visit the Shaanxi Provincial Museum. Departure transfer to the railway station to board train to Beijing. Overnight train soft sleeper.

Day 20-22: Beijing
On arrival, transfer to hotel. Morning at leisure. After lunch, we visit the Temple of Heaven where there are plenty of vocal as well as physical activities on display. After dinner, we listen to professional singers at a Beijing Opera performance.

On Day 21,
We visit a Chinese national symbol, the Great Wall. After lunch we enjoy some leisure time. Overnight at hotel.

On Day 22,
We visit Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City. After lunch, it's on to the Summer Palace where the imperial court used to go to escape the summer heat. Overnight at hotel.

Day 23-24: Beijing/Singapore/Australia
Morning at leisure. Afternoon transfer to airport to board flight to Australia via Singapore. Arrive Australia the following day filled with happy memories of the wonders of China.
