Day 1: Sydney/Buenos Aires (Argentina) Fly with LAN airlines to Buenos Aires, capital of Argentina.. On arrival, you will be welcomed by our National Escort and transferred to your hotel for 3 nights.
Day 2: Buenos Aires After breakfast we tour this cosmopolitan capital starting with historic Plaza de Mayo, Government House, Plaza de la Republica, Colon Theatre and the Museum. This afternoon we tour the picturesque neighborhoods of La Boca, San Telmo, Puerto Madero, Palermo, Rosedal and Recoleta. This evening we enjoy dinner and a tango show. Overnight at hotel.
Day 3: Buenos Aires This morning we drive north to visit the neo-gothic cathedral of Olivos and continue to the small tourist town of Tigre, located in the Parana Delta region where many rivers and shallow streams merge to form the vast brown Rio Plata. Afternoon cruise along the waterways experiencing river life and lush subtropical vegetation. Return to your hotel. Overnight at hotel.
Day 4: Buenos Aires/Salta This morning, we transfer to the airport to board flight to Salta located in northwestern Argentina. On arrival we visit The Museum of High Altitude Archaeology dedicated to the discovery of 3 Inca mummies found in the region. Next we tour this colonial city visiting t he Cathedral, San Francisco Church, Town Hall, San Bernardo convent, the handicraft market and nearby San Lorenzo village. Transfer to your hotel for 3 nights.
Day 5: Salta/Humahuaca/San Salvador After breakfast, we drive through picturesque villages to Humahuaca Gorge. We also visit the colorful handicraft market in Purmamarca village, the Archeological Museum in Tilcara, and the pre- Inca ruins in Pucará de Tilcara. This afternoon we return to Salta via San Salvador de Jujuy. Overnight at hotel.
Day 6: Salta/Cafayate After breakfast we drive through the Lerma Valley with its tobacco plantations and continue through brightly coloured sandstone pinnacles to the wine-growing district of Cafayate. Visit the historic Cathedral, the archaeological museum and ancient vineyards. This afternoon we wind our way along the banks of Las Conchas River stopping at Posta de las Cabras . Overnight at hotel.
Day 7: Salta/Buenos Aires This morning departure transfer to the airport to board flight to Buenos Aires. On arrival transfer to hotel for 1 night.
Day 8: Buenos Aires/Ushuaia (Patagonia) After breakfast, departure transfer to airport to board flight to Ushuaia, the southernmost city in the world. On arrival transfer to hotel for 2 nights.
Day 9: Ushuaia This morning sail on a catamaran through Ushuaia Bay into Beagle Channel separating Tierra del Fuego from the mainland. Here we weave through the islands of the Alicia Archipelago containing large colonies of sea birds and sea lions. We then sail back to Ushuaia past small fishing villages. This afternoon we board the legendary train from 'End of the World Station' to 'Tierra del Fuego National Park' Station and continue by bus to enjoy panoramic views of the Andes Range. Overnight at hotel.
Day 10: Ushuaia/El Calafate This morning transfer to the airport to board flight to the tourist town of El Calafate. On arrival, we visit the Glacier Museum and transfer to our hotel for 3 nights.
Day 11: El Calafate This morning we board our boat at Punta Banderas pier on Argention Lake and sail amongst icebergs to view the Upsala Glacier, the largest continental glacier in the southern hemisphere . Following a 4WD trek through mountainous roads and a short walk you can enjoy views of the Southern Patagonian Ice Shelf, the Andes and Lake Guillermo. Overnight at hotel.
Day 12: El Calafate After breakfast, we travel towards Perito Moreno Glacier, an imposing ice river situated within Los Glaciares National Park, declared Mankind's Natural Heritage site by UNESCO. Walk along paths to admire its breathtaking beauty. Overnight at hotel.
Day 13: El Calafate/Bariloche This morning, we transfer to the airport to board flight to Bariloche in the Argentinian lake district. Arrive and transfer to the hotel for 2 nights.
Day 14: Bariloche This morning we visit Playa Bonita before taking a chairlift to the top of Campanario Hill to enjoy panoramic views of Nahuel Huapi and Perito Moreno lakes. Afternoon at leisure. Overnight at hotel.
Day 15: Bariloche/Peulla (Chile) This morning we cruise from Puerto Pañuelo on Lake Nahuel Huapi to Puerto Blest and continue by bus to Puerto Alegre. From here, we board a catamaran and sail across Lake Frias to the Chilean border at Puerto Frías. We continue by bus through the Valdivian rainforest to Peulla. Check into hotel for 1 night.
Day 16 Peulla/Puerto Montt After breakfast we sail across Lake Todos los Santos enjoying spectacular views of Osorno and Calbuco Volcanos. On arrival in Petrohue, we visit Petrohué Falls before continuing on to Puerto Varas and Puerto Montt. Transfer to hotel in Puerto Montt for 1 night.
Day 17: Puerto Montt This morning we sail by ferry to Chiloé Island to visit the regional museum, Fort of San Antonio, a traditional handicrafts fair and Huaihuen Hill for spectacular views. Return to hotel in Puerto Montt. Overnight at hotel.
Day 18: Puerto Montt/Santiago This morning we visit Puerto Montt including, Plaza de Armas, the Cathedral, Melipulli Hill and the Angelmo crafts market. Departure transfer to the airport for flight to Santiago, the capital of Chile. On arrival transfer to hotel for 2 nights. This afternoon our city tour includes the Plaza de Armas, San Francisco Church, La Moneda Government Palace and the bohemian district of Bellavista.
Day 19: Santiago/Valparaiso/Vina del Mar This morning we cross the Coastal Mountain Range to visit Valparaiso, the cultural capital of Chile with its many museums, craft fairs, lively nightlife and fine dining. Valparaiso is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Afternoon visit to the seaside resort towns of Renaca and Vina del Mar before returning to Santiago. Overnight at hotel.
Day 20: Santiago/Lima (Peru) This morning, we transfer to the airport to board our flight to Lima, Peru. On arrival transfer to our hotel for 2 nights. Rest of the day at leisure.
Day 21: Lima This morning we enjoy a walking tour of the city view the Government and Municipal Palaces, the Cathedral, the tomb of Francisco Pizarro (founder of Lima), the Museum of Religious Art, Casa de Aliaga (colonial mansion). This afternoon we visit the Gold Museum and the residential districts of San Isidro and Miraflores. Overnight at hotel.
Day 22: Lima/Cuzco After breakfast, departure transfer to the Andean city of Cuzco, gateway to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. On arrival, transfer to your hotel for 2 nights. This afternoon we tour this historic city visiting the Church of San Cristobal, the markets, the Cathedral and the Church of Santo Domingo that is built on the ruins of the famous Inca temple Koricancha or Sun Temple. Overnight at hotel.
Day 23: Cuzco After breakfast, we visit the Archaeological Park of Sacsayhuaman that contains the Fortress of Sacsayhuaman, a sacrifice altar (Qenko) and sacred fountains of life and health (Puca Pucara). Afternoon at leisure. Overnight at hotel.
Day 24: Cuzco/Sacred Valley After breakfast we drive to the picturesque Andean village of Pisac where we visit the local market. This afternoon it's on to the fortress and temple at Ollantaytambo. Check in to hotel in Sacred Valley for 1 nights.
Day 25: Sacred Valley/Aguas Calientes/Machu Picchu This morning we board the 'Vistadome' train to the 'lost city' of Machu Picchu. We tour the Citadel of Machu Picchu, the Temple of Three Windows, the Sacred Square, Intihuatana (astronomic clock), the Royal Palace, the Sacred Rock and the Temple of the Sun. Check into hotel in Aguas Calientes for 1 night.
Day 26: Machu Picchu/Cuzco After breakfast, for those feeling up to it, there is an opportunity for a second entry to Machu Picchu to discover Intipunku (Sun Gate), the Moon Temple and to enjoy spectacular views of the city. This afternoon departure transfer to train station to board train to Cuzco. Overnight at hotel in Cuzco.
Day 27: Cuzco/La Raya/Puno After breakfast transfer to railway station to board the luxury train "Andean Explorer" for a unique experience of a ten hour journey along the shores of Lake Titicaca. The Adean Explorer is elegantly decorated and boasts fully refurbished coaches including dining and open-air observation bar cars.The train stops for a scenic view at La Raya, the highest point of our journey at 4,321m. Transfer to your hotel in Puno for 1 night.
Day 28: Puno/Uros Islands After breakfast, we cruise on Lake Titicaca to the Floating Islands made of reeds and inhabited by the Uros community. Overnight at hotel.
Day 29: Puno/Juliaca/Lima After breakfast departure transfer to Juliaca airport to board flight to Lima. On arrival transfer to hotel for 1 night. Rest of the day at leisure.
