Majestic China - 24 Days From AUD$4980

Day 1-2: Australia/Singapore/Beijing
Fly with Singapore Airlines to Beijing via Singapore. On arrival the following day, we will be welcomed by our National Escort and transferred to our hotel for 3 nights.

Day 3-4: Beijing
Today we visit some Chinese national symbols, the Great Wall & Temple of Heaven. Dinner tonight is Beijing (Peking) Duck. Overnight at hotel.
Following day we visit Tiananmen Square & Chairman Mao's Mausoleum. After lunch it's on to the Forbidden City, followed by a hutong (alleyway) tour by pedicab exploring Liulichang Street. After dinner we enjoy a Chinese acrobatic show. Overnight at hotel.

Day 5: Beijing/Xi'an
Morning at leisure. After lunch we visit the Beijing Zoo to see Giant Pandas. We then visit the Summer Palace where the imperial court used to go to escape the summer heat. After dinner transfer to railway station to board overnight train to Xi'an. Overnight train soft sleeper.

Day 6-7: Xi'an

On arrival, transfer to hotel for 2 nights. Morning at leisure. Afternoon visit to the Big Goose Pagoda, the Tang Dynasty Museum and the Shaanxi Provincial Museum. Your dinner tonight is "Jiaozi", the specialty meat and vegetable dumplings of Xi'an.
Following day we visit the World Heritage-listed Terracotta Warriors. After lunch we tour Bell & Drum Tower Square and the Great Mosque. After dinner we enjoy Tang Dynasty dancing. Overnight at hotel.

Day 8: Xi'an/Wuhan
Morning at leisure. After lunch transfer to airport to board flight to Wuhan. On arrival transfer to Yichang to board Yangtze River Cruise for 4 nights.

Day 9-11: Yangtze River Cruise
Over the next three days cruise the mighty Yangtze River. Relax & enjoy the breathtaking scenery, crossing through the Three Gorges: Qutang, Xiling and Wu. You will have the opportunity to visit small villages along the way.

Day 12: Chongqing/Guilin
Disembark cruise at Chongqing. Departure transfer to airport to board flight to Guilin, most famous for its scenery & greenery. Afternoon visit to the Reed Flute Cave & Institute of Chinese Medicine. Overnight at hotel.

Day 13: Guilin/Yangshuo (Li River Cruise)
This morning board the Li River Cruise to Yangshuo enjoying lunch on board. On arrival at Yangshuo, transfer to hotel. Afternoon at leisure. Overnight at hotel for 1 night.

Day 14: Yangshuo/Guilin
After breakfast, visit Yangshuo with its surrounding limestone pinnacles and relaxing ambience. After lunch we transfer back to Guilin, where we visit a local village. Overnight at hotel.

Day 15: Guilin/Kunming
Morning at leisure. After lunch, transfer to the airport to board flight to Kunming. Kunming, the capital of Yunnan province, has been inhabited for 2000 years and contains fascinating alleyways and wooden buildings. Tonight we feast on "across-the-bridge" noodles at the Golden Dragon Hotel.

Day 16: Kunming
Full day tour of Kunming, including visit to the Stone Forest (Shilin), the Qiqing Yi Minority village and the scenic Dragon Gate Grotto Complex in the Western Hills. Overnight at hotel.

Day 17-18: Kunming/Dali
After breakfast we visit the Daguan Pavilion and the Yuantong Buddhist temple. This afternoon we transfer to the airport to board flight to Dali. Dali is one of the most scenic cities in China. It is a perfect stopover with its backdrop of Jade Green Mountains. On arrival, check into your hotel for 2 nights. Next morning we visit picturesque Erhai Hu (Ear-shaped Lake). In the afternoon we visit the Three Pagodas and the old town of Dali. Overnight at hotel.

Day 19-20: Dali/Lijiang
Today we travel by coach to Lijiang on the border of Tibet. Along the way we visit Xizhou, a typical Bai Minority town and a Bai tie-dye workshop. After lunch we continue back to Lijiang. On arrival check in to hotel for 2 nights. The following day we take a sightseeing tour in Lijiang, including the Jade Lake village and the Baisha frescoes. After lunch, we explore Baisha village, home to the infamous Dr. Ho. Overnight at hotel.

Day 21: Tiger Leaping Gorge
This morning we visit Tiger Leaping Gorge on the Yangtze River (one of the deepest gorges in the world) and the old town of Lijiang. Overnight at hotel in Lijiang.

Day 22: Lijiang/Kunming
Morning visit to the pretty Black Dragon Pool Park followed by the Dongba Culture Research Institute. After lunch transfer to the airport to board flight to Kunming. On arrival transfer to hotel. Overnight at hotel.

Day 23-24: Kunming/Singapore/Australia
Morning at leisure. Afternoon transfer to airport to board flight to Australia via Singapore. Arrive in Australia the following day filled with happy memories of majestic China.
